Opener: Game Show Intro + Wheel of Fortune Clip
  • Watch clip at 1:15
  • What would your Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune contestant introduction be like? 
  • If you had 10 seconds to describe who you are to the world, what would you say?
Example: “My name is Jennifer Gunn. I’m a teacher from New York City. I love to… I believe in...I (verb)...”

ASSIGNMENT: Create Your In-Depth Personality Profile
Create your own personality profile using Glogster or any design software/site you’d like. Get creative. Be thorough. Go deep. This may be displayed! Convey who you are to someone who doesn’t know you, thereby getting to know yourself even better!

Put together everything you’ve done this week: 
  • Photos of yourself and/or things that represent you.
  • Your Myers-Briggs Results (Agree/Disagree)
  • Childhood Dreams vs. Today’s Dreams
  • Worries/Concerns
  • What do you love? What are you passionate about?
  • What do you dislike?
  • What are your hopes for yourself and the world?
  • Favorites. 

DONE? 
  • Export profile and put into your Google Portfolio. 

Closing Up Shop

  • What did we think about today? Any ah-ha moments?
  • Do you feel closer to discovering who you are?
  • How are we feeling?

Brief Introduction: In discovering our passions for the Big Idea Project, some of us feel pretty strongly about what we love and some of us don’t yet know what we we love. Today, we are going to help you consider this and perhaps move one step closer to finding your Big Idea.

—Who are you? How well do you know yourself? Psychologists have devised tests such as Myers-Briggs to help individuals identify their personality types. Before we embark on this project, let’s do some soul-searching.

Wednesday was Vlog Day! Digital Storytelling is an awesome way to document progress and amazing work. Your work will be documented through the Big Idea Project. Part of planning a compelling story is looking at models!


1. Introduction to Digital Story-Telling
Throughout this Big Idea Project, students will document their work in confessional-style videos. In the end, you will have an awesome chronicle of your work. 

2. Passion-Project Models
Check out these two videos of young people who found their passion and did big projects. 
High School student started her own worldwide hair-care company.
College students started their own App Design company while still in school.

3. Teacher Vlog Models
We did vlogs too! Check them out for inspiration!

4. Student Vlogs DUE ASAP
Record your first blog and upload it to your Portfolio folder in Drive. 
If you don’t want to be on camera, you can do a voiceover.
